RPL Partner Deena R. Merlen Announces Upcoming Youth Assembly at the United Nations

The 20th session of the Annual Youth Assembly at the United Nations® will take place at the United Nations headquarters in New York from August 9-12, 2017.  The Youth Assembly brings together exceptional youth delegates between the ages of 16 and 26 from approximately 85 countries to engage in an intensive conference involving ambassadors and other UN high officials, intra-governmental organizations, non-governmental organizations and other partners twice a year.  This 20th session is guided by the overarching principle of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, “Leaving No One Behind.”  With their unique sets of skills and perspectives in today’s ever-evolving world – not to mention their key role as stakeholders – young people have the potential to innovate, accelerate and help achieve sustainable development in their communities and beyond.

The Annual Youth Assembly at the United Nations® is a project of Friendship Ambassadors Foundation (“FAF”), a 501(c)(3) non-governmental organization formally associated with the UN Department of Public Information and in Consultative Status with ECOSOC and UNESCO. RPL Partner Deena R. Merlen, who has served on FAF’s Board since 2011, was privileged to speak at the UN General Assembly Hall in February at the 19th session of the Youth Assembly (pictured below).
