RPL Attorney Deena R. Merlen Co-Chair of Entertainment Law Committee of Bar Association
RPL congratulates partner Deena R. Merlen on her appointment as Co-Chair of the Entertainment Law Committee of the Fairfield County Bar Association in Connecticut. Fairfield County is arguably the heart of Connecticut’s robust film, television, and digital media industry, which has experienced explosive growth over the last few years, spurred in part by a highly favorable state tax incentive program. Numerous television shows and films are produced in Fairfield County each year. NBC Universal television production has been in Fairfield County since 2008, and Fairfield County recently became the new home of the NBC Sports Group, including NBC Sports, NBC Olympics, NBC Sports Digital, VERSUS (renamed the NBC Sports Network), and the Comcast Sports Management Group, which oversees the NBC Sports Group’s 14 regional networks. Blue Sky Studios, WWE and numerous other production, digital and media companies call Fairfield County home as well, and the Connecticut Film Center, located in Fairfield County, is a leading provider of financial services, production services, and facilities for the motion picture and television industry in the state. For further information on Connecticut’s digital media and motion picture tax credit or other legal issues concerning entertainment law matters in Connecticut, please feel free to call upon Deena R. Merlen, who is admitted to practice in New York and Connecticut.
