RPL Celebrates 2016 Youth Assembly at the United Nations
RPL congratulates Friendship Ambassadors Foundation, Inc. (“FAF”) on the 18th Annual Youth Assembly at the United Nations®. FAF, a non-governmental organization (“NGO”) dedicated to transformative intercultural exchange, youth leadership programs and humanitarian volunteer service projects, presents the Youth Assembly at the UN Headquarters twice a year.
This summer’s Youth Assembly, held from August 10 through 12, 2016, brought approximately 1,000 youth leaders, representing nearly 100 countries, to the United Nations. Since 2004, FAF and a network of officials, organizations and tireless volunteers have maintained this unique platform, which fosters dialogue and generates partnerships between exceptional youth, UN high officials and staff, the private sector and civil society.
RPL partner Deena R. Merlen, who serves as a member and former Chair of the FAF Board of Directors, was honored to be recognized along with the rest of the FAF board, staff, interns and volunteers at the Youth Assembly at the United Nations. Reavis Parent Lehrer LLP and Ms. Merlen in turn thank the Youth Assembly’s Honorary Chair, Her Excellency Simona Mirela Miculescu, Representative of the UN Secretary-General, Head of the UN Office in Belgrade, and Lead Endorsers, His Excellency Oh Joon of the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Korea to the United Nations and His Excellency Virachai Plasai of the Permanent Mission of the Kingdom of Thailand, for their role in making the Youth Assembly a resounding and impactful success.
We also salute the youth leaders, the entire FAF team and the wonderful volunteers without whom the Youth Assembly would not have been possible. For more information on FAF, visit their website. For photos of the Youth Assembly, click here.
