RPJ Congratulates Client Alex Honnold on New and Thrilling Documentary “Free Solo”
RPJ congratulates client Alex Honnold on the success of the documentary about his work called Free Solo. Directed by Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi and Jimmy Chin, Free Solo follows Honnold’s ascent of the Freerider route of El Capitan, a climb of 3,000 feet, without ropes or safety nets. Bret Stephens writes for the New York Times, “The only route to safety is through the relentless disciplining of body, mind, uncertainty, and fear. In a world of B.S. artists – and in a country led by one – Honnold is modeling something else, a kind of radical truthfulness. Either he’s going to get it exactly right, or he’s going to die.”
This thrilling and suspenseful documentary premiered at the 45th Telluride Film Festival and won the Audience Award at the Toronto International Film Festival. As Bret Stephens articulates, Free Solo offers audiences a chance to wonder, “Should long life be a goal of life?”
