Broadway Metro Theater Sparks A Revival On The Upper West Side

The Metro Theater, an historic theater on upper Broadway in Manhattan, owned by RPL client Broadway Metro Associates L.P., is officially the new home to Austin-based movie company Alamo Drafthouse.  Community Board 7’s Business and Consumer Issues committee approved Alamo’s two-year liquor license application and the facility is set to open in 2014. This is a unique attraction for Upper-West-Siders, as it will be the first Manhattan theater to serve restaurant quality food and drinks to movie-goers.  Among other amenities are theme nights, reserved seats and a strict no talking policy.

RPL partners Alice K. Jump and Lawrence Brocchini represented Broadway Metro in prior litigations to recover the landmarked property from a previous tenant.
