Congratulations to RPJ Friend and Global Production Partner Daizy Gedeon for Her Win at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival

Journalist and filmmaker Daizy Gedeon was honored at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival for her latest documentary, Enough!: Lebanon’s Darkest Hour, which received the Cannes Film Festival’s “Movie That Matters Award” in association with the Better World Fund.

Profiling the state of systemic corruption within Lebanon’s kleptocratic government, Enough! warns of what is at stake when wealthy countrymen claim the seat of power for their own selfish gains and dissolve any chance for the fair and equitable distribution of a nation’s resources.

Daizy shared her heartfelt sentiments upon accepting the award, explaining, “Our country is in a state of complete annihilation, by a group of people who are no longer leaders, but instead rapists of our nation. […] My documentary, which has been acknowledged tonight, prosecutes the case against these people, and brings to light and to you and to everyone as it travels around the world, the truth of what they’re doing to this country, which was the Paris of the Middle East and today is the garbage pit of the world.”

We at RPJ congratulate Daizy for shedding a necessary light on Lebanon’s crisis, for creatively and passionately championing the cause of human rights, and for inspiring others to lead by her tenacious example.
