Congratulations to RPJ Client Words + Pictures on the Upcoming Netflix Premiere of “Miracle: The Boys of ’80”

Miracle: The Boys of ’80, produced by RPJ client Words + Pictures, is set to premiere globally on Netflix on Friday, January 30 at 12:00 a.m. (PST) / 3:00 a.m. (EST) as part of Netflix’s broader Olympic documentary slate ahead of the Milan–Cortina Winter Games. Created in collaboration with the Olympic Channel and the IOC, the documentary examines the U.S. men’s hockey team’s victory over the Soviet Union at the 1980 Lake Placid Olympics, one of the most significant underdog victories in sports history.

The film draws on never-before-seen 16-millimeter archival footage from the 1980 Games, along with present-day interviews conducted nearly 45 years after the event. The victory, achieved by a young U.S. team of college players coached by Herb Brooks over a Soviet squad that had dominated international hockey for more than a decade, became a defining moment of the Cold War era and a lasting symbol of American resilience.
