Heidi Reavis Speaks on Women in Film Panel at Annapolis Film Festival

Sea Change at Annapolis Film Festival, Women in Film panelOn Sunday, March 24, RPJ Partner Helen D. “Heidi” Reavis, who is an Executive Producer on the documentary Sea Change, presented the film to a packed audience at the 2019 Annapolis Film Festival. Thereafter, she participated on a panel, “Voices of Women in Film,” on changes in the film industry both behind and in front of the camera, specifically discussing expanding the diversity of opportunity and narratives. Ms. Reavis discussed legal tools and the importance of Title VII and state laws in battling discrimination in the television and film industries.

The panel also included Jamie Coughlin, Writer and Producer of TransMilitary; Christine Delp, Director of Santuario; Director, Writer and Producer Maria Giese; Film Scholar and Programmer Nzingha Kendall; Sedika Mojadidi, Director of Facing the Dragon; Tchaiko Omawale, Director of Solace; Producer, Writer and Ambassador Atallah Shabazz; and Emmy Award-winning Actress and Producer Lynn Whitfield. Melissa Houghton, Executive Director of Women in Film and Video, moderated.

Sea Change, for which RPJ provided production legal, was joined on the Annapolis Film Festival roster by another film with RPJ production legal work, the documentary Roll Red Roll.
