IndieWire Quotes Nicole Page on How Production Companies Will Cope with Coronavirus Uncertainty
Since the coronavirus outbreak hit, TV and film production shut down nearly everywhere, but now the industry is looking towards what it will mean for production practices and policies when the cameras start rolling again. An article for IndieWire, published on April 20, discusses the measures production companies may have to consider, in light of the fact insurance policies are unlikely to cover losses caused by this pandemic. Speaking to this point, the article quotes RPJ Partner Nicole Page, who represents multiple production companies, saying, “This is hitting every single production at the exact same time, which is not an insurance model.” She added, “[And] it’s not a completion bond model, where there’s an assumption that not everything is going to get hit at the exact same time.”
As the article goes on to discuss, most production companies will have to create their own policies to ensure protective measures are put in place and followed in order to ensure the safety and health of all those on set.
