“Made in NY” Media Employee Training Program To Grow Local Small Businesses in Media and Entertainment Sectors
The New York City Department of Small Business Services and the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment has launched a new grant program called the “Made in NY” Media Employee Training (MET) Program that will award $500,000 in grant funding to local media and entertainment companies. The goal of the MET Program is to help NYC-based media and entertainment companies grow their businesses through employee training and investment in new technologies, equipment and markets. The grants are designed to cover up to 70 percent of proposed training costs, such as those allocated toward training materials, providers and facilities. According to the Mayor’s Office announcement, a company’s ability to impact economic activity in New York City is considered during the application process. Funding is still available to qualifying businesses. Learn more about the “Made in NY” MET Program at www.nyc.gov/training.
