Client East Side House Settlement ED Daniel Diaz Makes Crain’s 40 Under 40

Earlier this week, Crain’s New York Business released its 2019 list for 40 Under 40 rising leaders in business in New York City, and the Executive Director of our client East Side House Settlement, Daniel Diaz, made the ranks!

East Side House Settlement is a community-based non-profit in the Bronx that works with schools, community centers and other partners to bring quality education and resources to residents of the Bronx and Northern Manhattan. The organization has many programs, but its biggest program involves tutoring, counseling and job development for around 6,000 students between ages 16 and 24 who are at risk of dropping out of high school.

Mr. Diaz started working with the organization 14 years ago and became Executive Director in January 2017. He has always been passionate about non-profit work benefiting New Yorkers in need, and in his time at East Side House Settlement, he has created the majority of the organization’s programs. Describing his new goal for the non-profit to build a charter high school with a funnel program for kids to go into jobs in healthcare, he said, “Education is the way into the economic mainstream. We are filling a void by helping young people get on a career path.”
