Congratulations to Our Client Multitude Films LLC on Their Film ‘Pray Away’

Gay conversion therapy, a product of the “pray the gay away” movement, notably purported by Exodus International, one of the largest and most controversial conversion therapy organizations in the world, has become a pervasive instrument of the religious right, wielded to the disadvantage of many LGBTQ+ youth, and even some adults.

As a result of the often forced exposure to a philosophy rooted in shame, fear and denial, a large population who experience such treatment, many of them young children and teenagers, suffer from depression, anxiety, addiction, and suicidal ideations. The documentary shines a necessary and eye-opening light on the power and influence of the relationships we have with our families, ourselves, and religion. By speaking on behalf of an LGBTQ+ community subject to such a divisive and derisive school of thought, Pray Away offers a voice to those who have been silenced and forsaken for honoring their very natures, and lends us all insight into how we can better honor one another.

Pray Away will be premiering at the 2021 Tribeca Film Festival on June 16 and will air on Netflix in August. A huge congratulations to Multitude Films on this incredible documentary and to our very own attorneys Nicole Page and Michelle Lamardo, who provided legal services in connection with the film.
