Ethan Krasnoo Elevated to Counsel of the Firm

As of January 1, 2019, we are pleased to announce that RPJ Associate Ethan Krasnoo has been elevated to the position of Counsel.  We congratulate Mr. Krasnoo on all his hard work and success.

Mr. Krasnoo advises companies, organizations and individuals on a broad range of complex commercial litigation, arbitration, mediation and dispute resolution matters.  Mr. Krasnoo also counsels on general corporate, intellectual property, entertainment and employment matters, including employment negotiations and terminations, protecting and expanding clients’ intellectual property assets and data security and privacy matters.

Mr. Krasnoo has repeatedly been selected as one of Super Lawyers’ New York Metro Rising Stars and is a member of the New York City Bar Association’s Entertainment Law Committee.  He previously served on the Trademark and Unfair Competition Committee of the City Bar and has provided successful pro bono legal counsel to LGBT individuals seeking asylum, prisoners in human rights violation cases and artists in intellectual property disputes.  He regularly speaks and publishes articles on employment, entertainment and intellectual property matters.

Mr. Krasnoo’s specific areas of litigation and other dispute resolution have included claims of breach of contract, employment discrimination, sexual harassment and retaliation, insurance and securities fraud, antitrust, First Amendment, malpractice, False Claims Act and other whistleblowing laws, trade secret, false advertising, trademark infringement and dilution, copyright infringement and rate-setting and royalty disputes.  In addition to representing closely held companies and individual clients, he has advised publicly traded and privately held companies, including prominent fashion conglomerates, music publishers, performing arts organizations, insurance companies, hedge funds, asset managers, pharmaceutical companies, nonprofit organizations, law firms and consumer goods companies.

With the initiation of new 2019 legal requirements for sexual harassment prevention training, Mr. Krasnoo also counsels and trains company management and employees on best company practices as well as sexual harassment and discrimination prevention designed to fulfill the 2019 requirements under the laws of New York State, New York City, Connecticut and California.

Mr. Krasnoo is admitted to practice in New York State, the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and United States Tax Court.

Mr. Krasnoo received his B.A. from Tufts University (magna cum laude) and his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, where he served as Annual Review Section Editor of the Georgetown Journal of Gender and the Law and as Co-President of the Sports and Entertainment Law Society.  After law school, Mr. Krasnoo served as Judicial Intern for The Honorable Rosemary M. Collyer of the United States District Court, District of Columbia, and was previously an Associate at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP and Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler LLP.  Before working in law, Mr. Krasnoo acted professionally in theater, film and television, with credits including the lead role of Benny in the Off-Broadway musical, That’s Life, Jamie in the U.S. National Tour of My Fair Lady, and the Intern Guest Host on The Late Show with David Letterman.
