It is with great pride and excitement that we announce the promotion of two of RPJ’s attorneys, Ethan Krasnoo and Jill Kahn Marshall, to Partner, as of July 1, 2020. Both are exceptional members of the RPJ team, and we congratulate them on their incredible work and accomplishments!

Jill Kahn Marshall, previously an Associate with the firm, represents individuals and corporations in the areas of employment law, litigation and dispute resolution and healthcare.

Ms. Marshall represents individuals in the negotiation of employment and separation agreements, as well as claims involving discrimination and harassment in the workplace. She also provides counseling for individuals navigating complicated circumstances at work, including those related to parental leave and the transition back to the workplace. For corporate clients, frequently in the technology, healthcare and financial services industries, Ms. Marshall provides employment counseling, conducts internal investigations, drafts employment and separation agreements and employee handbooks, and defends against charges of discrimination. She also conducts anti-harassment and discrimination trainings. Ms. Marshall has experience before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and its state and local counterparts, and has represented clients at trial in federal and state courts and in arbitration hearings. She offers her clients practical, efficient solutions and is frequently able to resolve disputes prior to formal litigation.

Ms. Marshall was selected as a 2019 Super Lawyers Rising Star of the New York Metro area, and is admitted to practice in New York and Massachusetts.

Committed to public interest work, Ms. Marshall is a career coach through Dress for Success, a non-profit organization that empowers women to achieve economic independence. She has also interned for and partnered on pro bono projects with the ACLU Women’s Rights Project, the New York Civil Liberties Union, and the Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund. She has additionally worked with Brooklyn Legal Services to represent tenant associations seeking to preserve affordable housing and has represented victims of domestic abuse seeking orders of protection.

After earning her B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania (magna cum laude), Ms. Marshall received her J.D. from New York University School of Law. Prior to joining RPJ, Ms. Marshall was an Associate at Lichten & Liss-Riordan in Boston, and Chadbourne & Parke in New York.

Ethan Krasnoo, previously Counsel with the firm, practices in the areas of complex commercial litigation, arbitration, mediation and dispute resolution, as well as employment, intellectual property, and entertainment and media. He has represented publicly traded and privately held companies, ranging from prominent fashion conglomerates and performing arts organizations to hedge funds and insurance companies, as well as individual clients. His areas of litigation have included breach of contract, employment discrimination, sexual harassment, antitrust, False Claims Act, defamation, and trademark and copyright infringement.

Mr. Krasnoo has repeatedly been selected as a Super Lawyers New York Metro Rising Star, and currently serves on the New York City Bar Association Entertainment Law Committee. He is admitted to practice in New York State, the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the United States Tax Court. He also counsels and trains company management and employees on best company practices as well as discrimination and sexual harassment prevention designed to fulfill the requirements under the laws of New York State, New York City, Connecticut, Massachusetts and California.

Mr. Krasnoo has also provided pro bono counsel to LGBT asylum seekers, prisoners and struggling artists, and has volunteered with The Trevor Project. In 2010, Immigration Equity, the leading national LGBTQ immigrant rights organization, awarded him the Safe Haven Award for his pro bono work in that space. More recently, he has been selected by the Time’s Up Legal Defense Fund to represent victims of alleged sexual harassment and related claims.

After receiving his B.A. from Tufts University (magna cum laude), Mr. Krasnoo earned his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and served as Judicial Intern for The Honorable Rosemary M. Collyer of the United States District Court, District of Columbia. Prior to joining RPJ, he was an Associate at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP and Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler LLP. Before working in law, Mr. Krasnoo acted professionally in theater, film and television. He now authors a new blog about the intersection of theater and the law, The Law Ally of Broadway.
